Seed dispersal

This afternoon we have been looking at how seeds travel away from the parent plant so they are not competing for water, nutrients, light and space. We matched seeds to their descriptions of how they are dispersed and found out the names of the parent plant. Then we made careful observational drawings of the seeds. Can you tell an adult at home all the different ways seeds can be dispersed?

Observational pastel drawings of flowers

We linked our work in Science with our art work last week and drew clow up pictures of the insides of flowers. We looked at paintings by Georgia O'Keefe and used these to inspire our own pastel drawings.

Dying fabric like the Iron Age!

We used red and yellow onion skins and purple kale to make fabric dyes.
